Alumna Sasha's self-written, directed, and acted film, "Fly Me to the Moon," has gained recognition from the film industry. It not only received a nomination for the 60th Golden Horse Awards in 2023 for "Best Adapted Screenplay" but also won the prestigious "FIPRESCI Prize" and "NETPAC Award".Sasha Chuk, an outstanding graduate of our college in 2010, had already shown her passion for literary creation and her commitment to humanities during her studies. She pursued further studies at the Faculty of Arts in the University of Hong Kong after graduation. Her work, "Fly Me to the Moon," tells a touching and nuanced story of immigrant sisters from Hunan growing up in Hong Kong, exploring issues of national identity, gender, and social class. Sasha's recognition with the FIPRESCI Prize and the NETPAC Award is a testament to her talent and potential in the field of filmmaking. Her achievements bring pride to all the staff and students at our college.
We sincerely wish Sasha continued success in her future creative endeavours and look forward to her bringing more remarkable works to the Chinese-language film industry.
