The pigs of Kadoorie Farm [LINK to the Pigs page]
This is of course a demonstration unit for educational purpose. In the old days, there were a few more species for display and rearing. This photo shows another species. 真是玉帶橫陳。
Now, apparently, there is only one, the so called Da hua bai (大花白). The word " 花 " suggests that this strain is related to the place 花縣. Its fat : meat ratio is too LOW (i.e. too fatty) from the market point of view.

A few quick facts :

1. An omnivore (omnivorous).
2. 10 - 12 piglets per litter.
3. Hard hairs on skin.
4. The egesta (manure) mixes with mud and sawdust
and is periodically taken away for composting. {No bad smell.}
5. The scientific name of pig : Sus domesticus
