The periwinkle

The periwinkles are little Gastropod snails that dominate the upper shore

or the splash zone. They hide in rock crevices 

to escape from being swept away by the incoming waves.

The scale below is part of an eye-glasses.

The white grains in rock are quartz crystals.

The darker species with " cusp(s) " (突點 elevated points) : Nodilittorina trochoides 塔結節濱螺

The lighter colour species with relatively smooth shell surface : Nodilittorina radiata 粒結節濱螺
